MY DEAF AUDIO - ARE THE
NEW BLACK - Bivouac Label
EP Review
Former emo rockers bring
back the riff.
4/5
Formerly a band that traded
in post hardcore/emo songs that, personally,
werent that amazing or fun to listen to, MDA disappeared off the face
of the
earth after their Lockjaw debut to mass indifference. But now it looks as if
they could be onto something pretty fucking tasty. Stocking up on riffs,
raunch and rock, the
Are The New Black EP sees the band sound
truly
comfortable weaving their way through a smorgasbord of elastic Cramps-styled
guitar lines, rumbling bass and rockabilly rhythms. Get Out, Right Now
sounds like Turbonegro with a coating of British steel, while Turn Off
The
World takes the Hives roll out riffery and throws it headfirst into
the face
of The (International) Noise Conspiracy. Theyve turned my opinion around
and
they could well do the same to yours.
