The influence of The Clash
is instantly detectable in Get out, right now, and lasts the entirety of the
EP. This first track reminds me of INXS, and Get Your Rocks Off,
with added bendy rock and roll dirt guitar. Very 80s rock, which isnt
altogether bad.
Turn off the world starts with a riff that is a variation of The Kinks
All Day and All of the Night, following the tired lyrical path of
turning off the radio.
'Communication' is the most original of the 4 songs, with interesting twists,
building well and culminating in a first-rate chorus.
Final track 'Were Convicted' reminds me of Oasis for some disturbing reason.
All in all, Im not exactly enamoured by My Deaf Audio, and have to disagree
with their self-description as a garage punk band, but theres
something about them I cant quite make my mind up about. The fictitious
jury in my brain will retire, and reconsider its final verdict after a live
performance.
