MY DEAF AUDIO - ARE THE NEW BLACK -
So when you hear the words
'Audio My Deaf' what to you think? Nothing. However when you hear the words
'My Deaf Audio' you think of the best punk rock ever to come out of Brighton.
Their first record 'Got A Friend was a superb 4 track ep and gave us a slight
taster of what was to come. And what did come? Their last album 'Night Drive
In' was the result. Their debut was outstanding as we all know. And if you don't
own a copy for yourself then shame on you and burn in hell.
As exclusively revealed on ROTW earlier this year in our interview with the
Brighton lads, My Deaf Audio spoke about new developments on an album. And here
we have just some of what is to come. They told us that this would be very very
different from previous MDA Anthems, and they didn't lie, nor disappoint for
that matter.
Track 1 'Get Out, Right Now' is as I before said, is quite different from previous
tracks. I do have particular favorite tracks from the last album, but apart
from that I would say I prefer their new sound. I think this time they're a
bit more confident in their music. It certain feels like they are having more
of an impact.
The next track I've heard before. Their music has more effects in it now. But
they still have their unique sound and brilliant riffs. The effects just give
it a new feel. It sounds weird. It's hard to think this is the same band producing
this that made 'Night Drive In'. But neither the less it is the same band and
I should except that fact.
'Communication' starts off with a rather nice bass riff, and introduces some
drums and bursts of guitar. That it turns into the pure havoc we all know and
love by MDA. Probably enough said. The experience isn't describable, go listen
for yourself. Ah. Except you'll have to wait 2 months for it to be released,
but I assure you it'll be 2 months worth while.
The finale to the album is a rather loud track too. It's definitely the best,
the most catchy-ist, most feet tapping-ist song on here. 5 minutes of......er.....i
dunno what the word is. Its honestly that good. The build up half way through
is rather good too. Although the only lyrics in the song are "we're holding
on, for the day to come", or at least they may as well be. Maybe there
could be some other lyrics in the song to make it more interesting, but saying
that the actual music is outstanding, so. You could just get rid of the lyrics
and it would be just as gooder song. Top stuff. :-)
